30 teams are primed and ready to commence the battle for the Stanley Cup trophy in what looks to be one of the toughest and most competitive NHL seasons in decades!
Unibet have a massive pre-season offer online and will offer live betting every night from the first batch of regular season matches taking place in Europe right through until the finals!

Defending champion Boston Bruins are among the top seeds priced at 10.00 to win their second consecutive Stanley Cup.
If veteran goalkeeper Tim Thomas continues to act like a wall this may well lead the Bruins to another trophy in 2012.

Last season’s finalists Vancouver Canucks are seen as this season’s strongest candidate for the cup.
It will be a tough ask as they have never lifted the trophy before, but at odds of 8.00 at Unibet they are Unibet favourites to break their duck!

With the dominating Sedin brothers, they have had a tendency to win comfortably throughout the regular season play but usually seem to struggle slightly in the playoffs.
A solid routine and strong discipline could be the key to take them all the way this time out!

Despite having to start the season without superstar Sidney Crosby who is still suffering from a persistent concussion, the Pittsburgh Penguins are still one of the strongest teams this year and are second favourites at odds of 9.00.

“It promises to be another bone crunching season and this year we are spoilt with a European ice off with regular season matches taking place in Helsinki, Stockholm and Berlin” says Erik Backlund Head of Unibet Sportsbook.

“It’s not that easy to pick a winner either with no clear outright favourite which should make for some interesting match ups and close matches throughout the season.”

An interesting outsider could be the Ducks of Anaheim at odds 28.00, 41-year-old profile Teemu Selänne is (at least according to himself!) fit enough to play yet another year.
Unibet is confident of the Finn’s capabilities, despite his respectable age and offers a special bet on Selänne to score 66 points or more at the price of 2.00.

Another team to keep an eye on is the Winnipeg Jets. It has been 15 years since the original Jets relocated to the Arizona desert, but it appears NHL hockey is finally back with a vengeance (after inheriting the Atlanta Thrashers!).
So, the classic team is back and even though it looks to be a too big task for them to win the Stanley Cup (odds 75.00), they will put an interesting team to the ice in a sold out arena.

Unibet have loads of pre-season odds, pre match offers and live bets throughout the season. Check out the Unibet website now for all the latest prices…
